Tell us a bit about yourself:
I am 47 years old, I am a mother to 3 and a grandmother to 3. Family is very important in my life; my father passed away 24 years ago leaving myself and my 4 siblings and my mother. My mother is a true inspiration to us all and she has single-handedly guided us throughout life. I am currently a teacher assistant at a SEN special school – a job I find very rewarding. I do yoga 5 days a week and Zumba every week ; this has engaged my interest in fitness.
Why did you become a BBX Fitness instructor?
Bhangra has been a part of my life since I was a young child, especially through my culture. Since childhood I have always continued to practice old and new Bhangra moves as Bhangra is my passion. I wanted the opportunity to share this with others.
What difference has Bhangra Fitness made to you physically and mentally?
Bhangra has helped me to lose a lot of weight as well as keeping me upbeat!
How does Bhangra make you feel?
Bhangra make we feel very energetic and happy and positive. This is my happy place!
Why should people do Bhangra Fitness as a way of getting fit and healthy?
People should do Bhangra as it is a source of joy and entertainment. It is an excellent substitute to the gym.
What are your superpowers?
My superpower is my energy which gives me the ability to dance so much.
What’s your pet hate?
Poor customer service.
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Ben and Jerry’s brownie ice cream!
